Obedience
Please visit my page on Credentials as it
outlines much
of the education I have taken and completed.

Commands
These are instructions which I can preformed weather my handler is in
front of me or behind me. Sometimes she's not even in sight at all! I
respond to both verbal cues and hang signals. I have also learned to
perform most of my directions from a distance of 6 to 12 feet, a
requirement of stage and film preparedness.
I practice EVERYDAY, seriously, it's like those piano lessons so many
had to take. Practice, practice, practice. Sometimes I perform in my own
home or yard and sometimes to add distraction we try our routine in
public, like the park or the mall! (With people watching!) Mom even has
people other then herself work with me. So I learn to listen to what is
being asked instead of whom is saying it. I don't know where or how my
human learned all this but someone did a good job at teaching her, in
turn she has made me a balanced and well behaved dog, with quite a few
talents!

Yes, I see there are extra bullets with no command after them but as my
Mom see's it, there is always room for improvement!
As an example: Here are some commands I haven't mastered
yet that I am still practicing or just learning.
*Speak will be the last
command Emma will learn. Primarily because in order to train your dog to
speak you wait till they exhibit the behavior and then you build on it.
She never says a peep.
Many of these commands we are still trying to master
Emma Zen can already perform. But wagging your tail once on command and
being able to do it every time your asked are entirely two different
things. You have got to be able to carry out a direction consistently no
matter where you are at or who is giving the command. So I practice my
art everyday sometime in a quite place and sometimes in an unfamiliar
location with distractions. I practice those I know and those I need to
learn better. I also perform on or off leash or even while be lead by an
unfamiliar handler. My coolest trick is being able to go "Potty" when I
am told to, means I don't have accidents in public, during therapy or on
set. Isn't that a relief! :-)

It's a tall order, a life time job, a challenge for my intellect and a
positive use of my capabilities. Everything I do has helped me train
better and all my training has helped me behave well enough to be
allowed to do everything I get to. Behave / Reward.
I have attended obedience schools, agility classes and have been
professionally trained in film and stage preparedness.
Games like "hike and seek" also challenge a dog. And like everything
else that started out as fun now I want to join "nose work class". The
phrase "pet friendly" is about as household as it gets so find
what your dog likes, what his/her interest are and then, get out
there and do it. A few minutes a day changes their life and yours!
Obedience is not over-rated.

Agility and other
Sport Programs
Agility has it's own language and though they don't
necessarily classify as a command. They are tricks of the trade and
executed upon verbal request. I learned how to accomplish many
instructions by what started out as just, playing games.

Command: "Pose"
The Tilted head is dog for "Are you talking to me?"
Emma Zen Chiapuzio does have a pretty extensive
vocabulary.
So you may be asking yourself, is it true? Is she that good?
I mean, doesn't she has a down side?
Well the answer is, YES. A clear and definite,
Yes.
She is the S L O W E S T dog you will ever met.
I mean, ultra slow moe, to the point that we nicknamed her that!
So when it comes to action or time consumption if
you want this dog or need this dog to go from point A to point B, well
you better have five minutes. In the movie world maybe not the best
presentation but for us, just what we can live with.

Command: "Leave It"
Thought in dogs head, "Are you kidding me? For how long?"

This butterfly is dedicated to Mangum Force
Another really smart dog!
